On This Day in TWU's History...

April 20, 2005
Six years ago today, a ground-breaking ceremony took place for a new music facility that would house practice rooms and music faculty offices. The site is located to the southeast of the abandoned Cal Hanson Chapel. The much-needed facility was designed by Site Lines Architecture Inc., and opened its doors to students in the fall of 2006.

Has it really been 6 years? Oh how we enjoy the benefits of this facility. The Music Dept values community amongst its students and faculty, and having offices, practice rooms and rehearsal rooms in the same building has done much for us in this regard. I pray it won't be too many years before we see a similar blog saying "6 years ago today the university broke ground for the new Calvin Hanson Centre, the permanent home and rehearsal space for the Music Dept's Choirs."
