On This Day in TWU's History...

April 19, 1964

47 years ago today,  a ground-breaking ceremony for the Arts and Science Building Project took place with the Honourable Leslie Peterson, Minister of Education, presiding.
A fundraising flyer from the era encouraged donors to "buy a square foot of progress for   $7... to help the men and women of tomorrow."

A quick review of the University Archive online database turns up photos that tell the story of a multipurpose building housing a snackbar, bookstore, and  an arts vs science rivalry.

With more recent renovations in 1994, the building is now knows as Anna and J.G. Neufeld Science Centre.
