Access Copyright agreement reached (for now)

TWU, along with most other post-secondary institutions in Canada, recently signed an interim agreement with Access Copyright.

Leaving out the messy details, what this means is that the amounts of permissible copying will continue to be the same as they have been in previous years.
From the agreement: “the Interim Tariff allows TWU instructors to:
  • Continue to create and use customized paper coursepack material with the same reporting and payment provisions that institutions have become familiar with over the past 16 years.
  • Make day-to-day paper copies.
  • Prepare paper handouts to distribute in class.
  • Place materials on reserve in the library for students to photocopy.”
We have not signed the new digital interim agreement which was offered at the same time.
