One of Alloway Library’s art image databases, ARTstor, will soon implement a feature that will allow users to download groups of images directly into PowerPoint or the presentation software of their choice.
Beginning early in 2009, this feature will enable users to bulk download up to 500 images per semester, facilitating the offline use of images for teaching and study. At the same time, ARTstor will be making a change to their terms and conditions of use to make clearer that users may not maintain downloaded images should Alloway Library stop subscribing to ARTstor. This change responds to the needs of content providers and ARTstor's need to be self-sustaining.
Continual improvements to the ARTstor digital library and to the platform will provide ongoing value to TWU’s ARTstor users. ARTstor’s library has grown from 300,000 to nearly 1,000,000 images, and they continue to improve site performance and introduce innovative approaches to search and discovery features.
